Our water reservoir is still below the level required for proper fire suppression. To keep our community safe, we need to bring the system back to at least 70% capacity. After completing necessary maintenance at the water treatment plant, we are currently sitting at about 60%. Until we reach healthy levels again, water restrictions must remain in place.
These restrictions simply ask residents to avoid non‑essential water use. Tasks like laundry, long showers, washing floors, or other activities that can be postponed should be minimized for now. Every bit of cooperation helps us recover more quickly and ensures our system is ready should another emergency arise.
We also want to clarify the type of information the Village is able to provide. Our responsibility is to share updates related to Village operations and the resources we used to support the fire response. Any details about missing persons will come directly from the RCMP, and information about the cause of the fire will be released once the official investigation is complete.
As a reminder, our Fire Department is entirely volunteer‑based. The individuals who responded early Sunday morning stepped forward out of dedication to their community, and the Village of Fraser Lake is fully supportive and deeply appreciative of their efforts during this crisis.
Thank you for your patience, cooperation, and continued support as we work together to restore our water system and move forward as a community.
